Step into a beautiful Manhattan apartment overlooking Central Park West and witness two separate Christmas gatherings separated by twenty years. In 1980, former teen movie star Julie Bascov insisted on celebrating the holiday with utmost extravagance, even though her family is Jewish. Alongside her husband Ben, their son Scotty, and his Harvard friend, Jeff, they celebrate.
However, when Jeff returns 20 years later, he finds that the family has transformed into something almost unrecognizable, and their once glamorous world has been overshadowed by loss. The Assembled Parties in London is a sharp observation of themes such as family, privilege, and the weight of time.
The show was such a success on Broadway that it had to be extended three times due to incredible demand.
