About Richard III - Globe

See Richard III, a Shakespearean tale of manipulation and deceit in the quest for power, at the Globe starring Olivier Award winner Michelle Terry. Book Richard III tickets on TodayTix.

Richard III in London has a talented cast, including Marianne Oldham (Holby City) in the role of Elizabeth, Helen Schlesinger (Straight Line Crazy) in the role of Buckingham, Sarah Finigan (Suffragette) playing both King Edward and Mayor, and Kibong Tanji (Tina—The Tina Turner Musical) playing Clarence and Stanley.

The cast brings to life the story of Richard of Gloucester, whose dream is to be the King of England. The charismatic and narcissistic Richard stops at nothing in pursuit of his goal as he manipulates, deceives, and murders those around him.

  • One of the lines from the play, "A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!" has been seen in other forms of media, including the 1993 Mel Brooks film Robin Hood: Men in Tights and the 1949 Looney Tunes cartoon A Ham in a Role.
