Jamie New is sixteen and lives on a council estate in Sheffield. Jamie doesn’t quite fit in. Jamie is terrified about the future. But he is going to be a sensation. Supported by his brilliant, loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out of the darkness into the spotlight.
Ivano Turco as Jamie and John Patridge as Hugo/Loco Chanelle will lead the cast, which includes Shobna Gulati, Rebecca McKinnis, and Talia Palamathanan.
With ‘songs that have the wow factor’ (The Times) by lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, Dan Gillespie Sells, and a ‘hilarious’ book and lyrics ‘with delightful punch’ (Whatsonstage) by writer Tom MacRae, this funny, feel-good, musical sensation is your much-needed glitter in the grey.

What to Watch For
- The show’s premise is based on a BBC Three documentary called Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, which follows Durham teenager Jamie Campbell and his journey to going to prom.
- Everybody's Talking About Jamie had its world premiere at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre. - Shortly after, Everybody's Talking About Jamie in London opened at the Apollo Theatre, where the show ran until it closed in London.
- The music in Everybody's Talking About Jamie was created by Dan Gillespie Sells, formerly of the indie-pop band The Feeling. Some hit songs include "Work of Art" and "And You Don't Even Know It."
- In true Jamie style, the real Jamie Campbell arrived at the London press night for the West End production in a dress adorned with the show’s artwork.
