Tell Me More

Bob Marley’s revolutionary music career saw him define reggae as we know it today. Born in Nine Mile, Jamaica, Marley began performing professionally at 18 as the lead member in Bob Marley and the Wailers. In the UK, he enjoyed great commercial success, with 18 tracks reaching the top 40 in the music charts. As a result of Marley’s music, reggae and ska styles were popularised, with songs like “One Love/People Get Ready” played countrywide. But, Marley didn’t perform with the Wailers forever — he made his debut solo album in 1974, with lyrics inspired by religious, cultural and social influences. Experience Bob Marley's life on stage, and book Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical tickets now.

As he preached his message of love and unity, others did not take to his views. On Dec. 3, 1976, Marley survived an assassination attempt at his home, later moving to London permanently. That didn’t stop his music though, with his 1977 album “Exodus” staying in the charts for over a year. Sadly, Marley passed away at the tender age of 36, but his music continues to entertain and inspire generations of listeners today. The blend of reggae in Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical and high energy routines are set to be electric.
