Theatre Passe Muraille
Theatre Passe Muraille (TPM) believes there should be a more diverse representation of artists, audience members, and stories in our theatre in Canada. TPM aspires to be a leader locally, nationally and internationally in establishing, promoting, and embracing collaborative and inclusive theatre practices that support and ignite the voices of unique artists, communities and audiences.
About Theatre Passe Muraille
Founded in 1968,Theatre Passe Muraille (TPM) is Canada’s original alternative theatre company, currently developing and producing new Canadian plays, striving to articulate a distinct Canadian voice that reflects the complexity of our intercultural society. TPM operates out of a designated historical building; the former Nasmith Bakery and Stables. But true to name, productions also take place “beyond walls” at site-specific locations across Toronto. Productions go up in The Mainspace, a flexible, multipurpose theatre, seating 185, The Backspace, an intimate studio, seating 55, and The Cab Stage / Bar, an intimate cabaret & bar space, capacity up to 100, and home to multi-disciplinary performances and TPM’s After Hours programming.
