When Viola washes ashore and disguises herself as a man, she sets off a chain of mistaken identities and romantic chaos, here directed by Jess Chayes. Shakespeare's most lyrical comedy, performed as the culmination of a year of classical training.

This Macbeth isn't an STC mainstage production but the graduating showcase of the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy's Class of 2026, capping their one-year MFA in classical acting. Director Alec Wild uses Ksenya Litvak's astonishing puppetry to pull the witches, ghosts, and children of prophecy out of the ancient world and into ours. Shakespeare's tragedy of ambition overtaking conscience, staged as lean, actor-driven work.
