The Toni Rembe Theater (formerly The Geary Theater)

The American Conservatory Theater was founded in 1965 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but moved to San Francisco a year later.

The nonprofit organization now produces classical and contemporary shows in its two theatres: the Geary Theater (which is on the National Register of Historic Places and an official San Francisco Landmark) on Geary Street and the Strand Theater on Market Street.

A.C.T. also has an acting school, with an MFA graduate program and a youth training program.
