With a saucy album cover that gained its own cult following, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass’ 1965 smash album Whipped Cream & Other Delights soundtracked the swinging ’60s and propelled Alpert’s blend of jazz, pop, mariachi, and Latin grooves into the mainstream. Delivering the instantly recognizable “A Taste of Honey” and other food-themed hits, the album sold six million copies and was quicky followed by a string of other hugely successful albums. Overall, Alpert’s legendary trumpet sound and infectious arrangements have won nine Grammy awards and produced five No. 1 singles.
This is Herb Alpert’s first performance at the Hollywood Bowl since 1968, and he’s bringing all his chart-topping favorites plus stories, images and memorabilia from his incredible career. Don’t miss seeing “The Lonely Bull,” “Spanish Flea,” “Ladyfingers,” “Tijuana Taxi,” “This Guy’s in Love With You,” “What Now My Love,” “Rise,” and more in an unforgettable live show.
