This is a fictional account of Salieri and Mozart's lives based on Alexander Pushkin's 1830 play Mozart and Salieri which was also adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 1984 starring F. Murray Abraham, Cynthia Nixon, and Chirstine Ebersole.
Although not a musical, Mozart's music is used to enhance the drama between the rivals.
