Direct from Broadway and featuring members of the original Mischief Theatre company, Peter Pan Goes Wrong is a play written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields and directed by Adam Meggido. The play premiered in London in 2013 and boasted two Christmas season runs at the Apollo Theatre in the West End. The show was nominated for Best New Comedy at the Olivier Awards in 2016.

A reveiew of the show on New York Theatre Guide reads, "Peter Pan is rife with slapstick humor and running gags" and the show "benefits from the familiar framing of a classic story: There is anticipatory laughter in waiting to see just how the amateur company will hoist actors in the air and fashion a crocodile."

More information about Peter Pan Goes Wrong

The creators of the Tony Award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong bring you a hilarious, tumultuous take on J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan. The fictional Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is back and ready to put on the performance of their lives! The play within a play follows a troupe of actors struggling to perform the timeless tale amidst collapsing sets, backstage cast quarrels, forgotten cues, and flying catastrophes. This amateur theatre troupe will need more than faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust to pull this show off.

With its roots in improv, the British company Mischief Theatre has brought laughter to audiences since its formation in 2008. Their global sensation The Play That Goes Wrong, which continues running today, first hit the stage in 2012, winning them multiple awards and opening the door for more outrageous Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society productions like Peter Pan Goes Wrong, the TV special A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, and BBC television series The Goes Wrong Show.

What to Watch For

  • Peter Pan Goes Wrong is Mischief Theatre’s first play to be adapted for television. Filmed in front of a live audience and adapted as an hour-long special, the comic hit premiered on BBC One on New Year’s Eve in 2016.
  • Peter Pan Goes Wrong features original music from composer Richard Baker and Mischief Theatre member Rob Falconer. Falconer brings his talents to the company both musically and on stage with performances in many of Mischief’s plays, including Peter Pan Goes Wrong during the show’s first run at the Pleasance Theatre in London.
  • The writers of Peter Pan Goes Wrong also star in the show’s performances. Henry Lewis as Robert, Jonathan Sayer as Dennis, and Henry Shields as Chris come together and complete the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society to bring their play to life.
  • Set designer Simon Scullion brought the play to new levels with a revolving centerpiece. The rotating set adds motion and chaos to the show. Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society was written with a revolving stage in mind, and the building momentum of the show is matched by the speed of the spinning set.
