See The Dance of Death at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Originally written by Austin Stridberg in 1900, this new version by Conor McPherson stars ensemble members Cliff Chamberlain, Kathryn Erbe, and Jeff Perry. Cut off from the world, this high-stakes drama takes place in the stone tower of an isolated naval fortress. Here, Alice and Edgar are on the verge of celebrating 25 years of wedded bliss — if decades of resentment, recrimination and mutual sabotage count as bliss. But when an alluring visitor arrives, the delicate balance of their tedious arrangement is interrupted.
Get The Dance of Death tickets in Chicago and prepare for marital warfare that will have you on the edge of your seat. This twisted love triangle is one no one would want to be a part of.
