A “poised and monstrously talented” (Philadelphia Inquirer) violinist, Benjamin Beilman reunites with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Jonathon Heyward for Bruch’s First Concerto. With “a well-earned reputation for dramatic feeling and attention to dynamism” (New York Times) and poised to begin his Baltimore directorship this fall, Heyward makes his Ravinia and CSO debuts highlighting the music of 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree Tania León through her Pasajes—nostalgic episodes of Latin American life: birdsong leading nature’s chorus, the rhythmical pulse of the Caribbean, and Carnaval revelers’ dances—as well as the rich sound world of Rachmaninoff in his Symphonic Dances.
