WHIM offers first-time visitors and seasoned Chicagoans a unique experience. Guests can walk through immersive worlds and wander through the Lobby of Second Chances, filled with found objects-turned-art. Visitors can also enjoy cocktails while watching live music, theatrical performances or participating in karaoke in the venue’s Enchanted Forest.

In the reimagined former home of Stage 773, WHIM has taken the building to a new plane of existence. Now a cocktail lounge, immersive art space, and performance venue, WHIM welcomes guests to a world of imagination. WHIM opened in July 2022 after reinvigorating the interiors of Stage 773. Visitors are immediately met with the imaginative nature of the space in the Lobby of Second Chances.
Tickets are optional to spend time in WHIM's lobby and bar area. However, if you want to experience the immersive exhibit, performances in the Enchanted Forest space, and the accompanying complimentary cocktail, you will need a ticket.
What to Watch For
- The venue's Lobby of Second Chances area does not require a ticket. Visitors may come by anytime the space is open and enjoy a cocktail and the found art pieces.
- The whole immersive WHIM Experience only takes about 30 minutes to complete, but guests are welcome to hang out in the Enchanted Forest area or lobby if open.
- An adult must accompany guests under 18. That said, kiddos will enjoy the imaginative nature of the art spaces at WHIM.
