About Hamnet

See Hamnet at Harman Hall. Presented by The Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company and Neal Street Productions, this moving adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's best-selling novel takes a fictional look at the lives of Agnes and William Shakespeare and how the unimaginable loss of their son contributed to the birth of the greatest play in the English language. Published in 2020, the novel was also recently adapted into a critically-acclaimed major motion picture starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley.

Get Hamnet tickets in DC and prepare for a profound exploration of grief and the enduring power of love. Adapted by award-winning playwright Lolita Chakrabarti (Life of Pi) and directed by Erica Whyman, the Guardian calls Hamnet "sweeping and sentimental."
