Tell Me More

After more than 25 years, Stomp is still going strong and syncopated at the Orpheum Theatre in New York. Stomp tickets are on sale now.

For nearly 20 years, Stomp has delighted Off-Broadway audiences as it celebrates the essence of street theatre. It’s a frantic, high-energy entertainment show, combining music making with objects that everyone has to show that anyone can create a rhythm. Stomp music is played entirely on non-traditional tools: buckets, brooms, sticks, pans. You name it, it can be a musical instrument. Stomp is a physical show too, as performers use their body to convey the power of the music and sounds they’re creating.

Stomp Fun Facts: All the sand, garbage cans, and more the percussive production uses

Since Stomp began New York performances in 1994, the show has made the Orpheum Theatre its home. Now, you can enjoy the sounds of Stomp for yourself.

What To Watch For

  • Performance artists in Stomp use a variety of miscellaneous objects to create their music. Throughout the show, bin lids and brooms become musical instruments. See how many objects you can spot throughout Stomp.
  • Stomp is originally a British show, formed by Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell in Brighton, England. The English company also starred in the New York premiere of Stomp as well as productions worldwide.
  • The Stomp entertainment show was awarded a Drama Desk Award for Most Unique Theatrical Experience. Even though the award was given nearly two decades ago, Stomp is still one of the most distinctive New York shows around; there’s nothing quite like it.
