The Countess Katya Smirnoff-Skyy (J. Conrad Frank) has dazzled Bay Area audiences for over 17 years with her blend of opera, pop, and humor. Katya's storied career includes inventing Popera, romancing William Shatner, and living near John Lennon at the Dakota in the 1970s. Once a top Mezzo Soprano understudy in Eastern Europe, she now performs in theaters, bars, and bathhouses across America. Named “Best Drag Act 2008” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian and winner of the 2019 Bestie for Cabaret Performer, Katya has had sold-out shows at the Razz Room, Feinstein’s, and other venues. J. Conrad Frank, a vocal performance graduate from the University of Oregon, has been a key figure in Bay Area theater for nearly 20 years. His notable roles include Alex More (Buyer and Cellar), Angela Arden (Die Mommy Die), Mary Dale (Red Scare on Sunset), Narrator (Rocky Horror Show), and The Beadle Bamford (Sweeney Todd). Conrad has won several Bay Area Theater awards for his performances.
