Altarena Playhouse is the oldest thriving community theatre in the Bay Area in its 86th year! Located in Alameda, housed in an old grocery store, this intimate theatre-in-the-round will give you an experience unlike most.
ABOUT PAL JOEY Anti-hero Joey Evans (NICO JAOCHICO) is a charming and manipulative Chicago nightclub singer with grand ambitions. He’s willing to use others to achieve those ambitions, including naive admirer Linda English (SARAH ELIZABETH WILLIAMS) and wealthy seductress Vera Simpson (MARIA MIKHEYENKO).
Far ahead of its time for its frank depiction of characters and social themes, Pal Joey will keep you guessing who is using whom. The memorable Rodgers & Hart score includes the standards “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered” and “I Could Write a Book.”
