Tina – The Tina Turner Musical Tickets

Tina Turner gave creative input on the show, including direction and insight for the featured characters. The musical begins in Nutbush, Tennessee, and follows Turner’s rise to fame as she defies stereotypes and cements her title of the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll.

Tina - The Tina Turner Musical premiered at the West End’s Aldwych Theatre in London on April 17, 2018, and broke box office records and won an Olivier Award. The original cast starred Adrienne Warren as the title character.

Warren reprised her celebrated role for the Broadway production, which opened in 2019. Tina - The Tina Turner Musical earned 12 Tony Award nominations, and Warren won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.

The Broadway production is on a North American tour, making its way across the country over the next year with performances in Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, and dozens of other cities. During the tour, Naomi Rodgers and Zurin Villanueva share the leading role as Turner.

• The concept for Tina - The Tina Turner Musical is attributed to Turner’s husband, Erwin Bach. Turner married Bach, a music producer, in 2013. The couple spoke about their relationship in the 2021 HBO documentary Tina. Bach stayed by Turner’s side from their meeting in 1985 until she died in 2023. He even donated one of his kidneys to her in 2017 following her kidney cancer diagnosis.
• Tina - The Tina Turner Musical is a jukebox musical featuring popular songs like “Proud Mary,” “Private Dancer,” “What’s Love Got to do with It,” and “The Best.”
• Tina Turner’s creative influence on the musical was instrumental. Turner even took the time to teach the original Tina - The Tina Turner Musical star Adrienne Warren her famous dance move called The Pony. Warren isn’t the only one to learn dance moves from Turner — Mick Jagger recently credited Tina Turner for teaching him The Pony dance.
• Tina Turner and her husband, Erwin Bach, attended both the West End and Broadway premiere performances of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical. At the Broadway premiere of the musical, Turner and Bach were joined by a handful of celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey and Whoopie Goldberg.
