Directed by multi-award winning director Iain Sinclair (Berlin, A View from the Bridge), Shakespeare’s ultimate tragedy Hamlet will mark MSC Studio’s return to fortyfivedownstairs following sell-out seasons of Julius Caesar and King Lear.
Leading the cast on a perilous journey of madness, murder and lost love is Jacob Collins-Levy (Doctor Who, Prosper), portraying the titular role of Hamlet. This star of the screen is treating Melbourne audiences to a rare theatrical experience, blending his cinematic acumen with the timeless complexity of this iconic tragedy. Joining Collins-Levy on stage are a distinguished ensemble of actors, including several familiar faces that audiences will rediscover from previous MSC Studio seasons.
Hamlet’s father is dead. Tormented by this tragedy, Hamlet seeks justice risking both his sanity and the security of the state in his mission to expose the truth.
