HOMILY is an explosive mix of spoken word poetry and drag performance, cooked up as a fiery reflection on a youth spent in the Catholic Church.
Enter Lady Diana as THE PREACHER, a repressed, creature of the dark who goes on an emotionally intensive journey of self-discovery. It reckons with how religion interacts with the psyche of a young person, and the different ways in which internalised homophobia and religious conditioning impact the queer identity.
Written and performed by emerging theatre-maker, drag artist and social activist, El Waddingham, in the same traditional form of a Catholic homily.
