Revered for his seemingly infinite range, “[Yefim] Bronfman pushes hard at the boundaries of what is possible on the piano” (The Seattle Times). He returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for a recital showcasing just that with a selection of Romantic and Impressionist solo works.
Bronfman takes on Debussy’s Javanese gamelan-inspired Images and revisits Brahms’ Third Piano Sonata, a piece he recorded in 1987 and has reimagined over the decades.
Praising the veteran musician’s expertise on the Arabeske, the Los Angeles Times said that Schumann’s masterwork “[flies] by as if on gossamer wings, Bronfman’s brawny fingers seeming somehow to barely brush the keys, as though there were nothing to it.
