In a bygone era, Sesame Street featured the legendary performer and tap dancer Gregory Hines with a youthful protégé Savion Glover doing the “Opposite Dance.” Now, three decades later, Glover brings their friendship to the stage with a tap dance tribute to his late mentor. The show also steps back to those hoofing heroes that preceded Hines in the 1920s. Premiering at SF Jazz Summer Festival, the Tony Award-winning Glover taps solo, backed by an instrumental jazz combo.
