On Your Feet! is a musical retelling of Emilio and Gloria Estefan’s life, love, and music. Written by Alexander Dinelaris and executive produced by the Estefans, the new musical features many hit tracks, like “Get on Your Feet” and “Conga,” and some new songs written by the Estefans.

On Your Feet! chronicles Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s journey from humble beginnings to conquering the world stage with their infectious Latin-infused pop music. Set against the backdrop of the Miami Sound Machine's electrifying hits, the musical explores the couple's rise to fame, unwavering passion for music, and challenges in breaking cultural barriers.
The musical opened in Chicago for its pre-Broadway world premiere in the summer of 2015. That fall, On Your Feet! opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre. Directed by Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, On Your Feet! received several nominations, including a Tony Award nomination for choreography. The musical also won an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Choreographer.
On Your Feet! is on tour and traveling the country in 2023. Luis Salgado directs and choreographs the touring production with music director Daniel Gutierrez.
What to Watch For
- Emilio and Gloria Estefan received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song in 2019. The original Broadway cast members of On Your Feet! performed for the ceremony alongside Jose Feliciano, Cyndi Lauper, Patti LaBelle, Gloria Estefan, and her daughter Emily Estefan. The presentation aired on May 5, 2019, on PBS.
- Emilio formed the band Miami Sound Machine in 1975. With Gloria on vocals and Emilio playing various instruments, Miami Sound Machine climbed the music charts. Their major hits featured in the musical include “Conga,” “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Coming Out of the Dark,” and many others.
- Both Emilio and Gloria Estefan have stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Gloria has sold over 100 million records worldwide, and Emilio has shaped the careers of many musical artists, including Marc Anthony, Shakira, and Ricky Martin.
- On Your Feet! is both a jukebox musical and a bio-musical. Rather than having original scoring for the entirety of the musical, On Your Feet! features Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine’s popular tracks.
