About Al Hirschfeld Theatre
The Al Hirschfeld Theatre is a Broadway theatre located in midtown Manhattan. The theater originally opened as the Martin Beck Theatre, as it was designed by G. Albert Lansburgh for vaudeville promoter Martin Beck. In June 2003, it was renamed the Al Hirschfeld Theatre after the famous Broadway celebrity caricaturist. It reopened in November of the same year with the musical Wonderful Town. It is one of the five theatres owned by Jujamcyn Theatres, purchased from the Beck family in 1965.
