Hello, Bernadette! Bernadette Peters celebrated her opening night in “Hello, Dolly!” on Thursday night. Peters takes over the title role in the Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart musical from Bette Midler, who won the Tony for her performance, and she is joined by co-stars Victor Garber as Horace Vandergelder, Charlie Stemp as Barnaby Tucker, and Molly Griggs as Minnie Fay. After her Broadway bow, Peters stepped onto the red carpet on 44th Street, and the cast and guests — including Malin Ackerman, Annaleigh Ashford, Christine Baranski, Danny Burstein, Kristin Chenoweth, Harry Connick Jr., Joel Grey, Megan Hilty, James Lapine, Bob Mackie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, and Zac Posen — celebrated at famed theater haunt Sardi’s.
