TodayTix Meets: The Stars At The Stage Debut Awards
The Stage recently hosted the very first Debut Awards that recognise talent from across the UK, in regional productions and not just the shows that make it to London. They also recognise newcomers to the industry, giving those up and coming performers recognition that might usually be reserved for more established performers.
We sent TodayTix Social Ambassador Jess Sykes along to the red carpet to chat to the hosts and nominees about the night and #WhyTheatre is the industry for them. First up, check out Jess’ interview with Miriam-Teak Lee who won for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in On The Town. Where can you next see Miriam? Oh, just HAMILTON!
As he passed along the red carpet, Jess caught up with legendary stage actor Kenneth Cranham, who will play alongside Anne-Marie Duff in the upcoming Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle.
Jess caught up with the incredible Noma Dumezweni to chat about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child heading to Broadway and what advice she has for young performers.
We also ran into TodayTix fan fave and Dreamgirls star, Marisha Wallace, who, as it turns out, is a big fan of ours!
Rachel Tucker has fans around the world thanks to her performance as Wicked‘s Elphaba, both in London and on Broadway. Hear the amazing connection she had to the world of Wicked at an early age and #WhyTheatre is her passion.
Winner of Best Composer, Dan Gillespie Sells talked to Jess about the creative process of making the new musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Katherine Soper, winner of Best Writer for her play Wish List, had some great advice for young aspiring writers.
