First Look: Lady Gaga In A Star Is Born Remake
Based on the classic movies, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will star together in a remake of the musical A Star Is Born, and this week we saw the first pictures from the upcoming film.
This iconic story follows a washed up performer who discovers a beautiful young singer whose star is on the rise. As she attempts to save him from alcoholism, he struggles to control his jealousy over her growing success. The story was first on the silver screen back in 1937 starring Janet Gaynor, was remade in 1954 with Judy Garland then again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand.
In the latest version, Lady Gaga (using her given name Stefani Germanotta) will play a country singer called Ally whose talent attracts Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine. Lady Gaga shared the first image of the pair on her Instagram page:
The Daily Mail also snagged some candid shots of the production, which if you’ve never seen the earlier films, these may count as a spoiler.
Lady Gaga took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Limited Series in 2016 for her role as the murderous Countess in American Horror Story, and this will be her first leading role in a feature film. In another first, this film will also see Bradley Cooper directing his debut feature.
