Summer is hands down the best season in the Windy City. The days are longer, the temperatures are higher, and the notorious Chicago winters are a distant memory. Whether you are a native Chicagoan or a visitor, Chicago will not bore you with its rich urban and cultural offerings this summer. It’ll be Fall again before you know it, so make sure you take advantage. Read on for our suggestions on how to make your summer in the city the Best. Summer in Chicago offers ample opportunities for your ears to indulge on beautiful music while enjoying the weather. Concert lovers flock from out-of-state for the famous Lollapalooza and Pitchfork, but you don’t need to break the bank for ultimate music happiness. There are free concerts in Millennium Park all summer every Monday and Thursday, and too many festivals to name – check out the totally free Chicago Blues Festival, the eco-friendly Green Music Fest, and the punk-centric Riot Fest.

For foodies, there’s no occasion like Taste of Chicago, an annual summer festival showcasing the best of Chicago’s dining community. For more than three decades, beautiful Grant Park on the city’s magnificent lakefront has been home to the world’s largest food festival. With food trucks, pop-up restaurants, celebrity chef-du-jours in every kind of cuisine and price range you can imagine, your stomach will say thank you.
