Synopsis
George Balanchine is regarded as the foremost contemporary choreographer in the world with a legacy of iconic works. Twyla Tharp is considered the high priestess of choreography, and the piece chosen for this program is an audience favorite and her most frequently performed work throughout the world: A glamorous portrait of seven couples through the arc of romantic relationships, all set to the timeless music of Frank Sinatra. The presentation is rounded out with a Company premiere for The Washington Ballet by one of the world's most sought-after choreographers, Alexei Ratmansky.
