About Taylor Mac's Holiday Sauce

Genre-defying drag artist and MacArthur “genius” Taylor Mac returns to the Kennedy Center. Exploring Christmas as calamity, "Holiday Sauce" upends yuletide traditions as you celebrate the season in all of its dysfunction with your chosen family. Joined by longtime collaborators designer Machine Dazzle, music director Matt Ray, and a band of eight, Mac reframes the songs you love and the holidays you hate into “a present from the island of misfit toys.”

Just announced! The award winning co-host of NPR's "All Things Considered" Ari Shapiro joins the show! A man of many talents, Ari is a frequent guest singer with the "little orchestra" Pink Martini and has performed in many of the world's most storied venues.

[Reminds us] there's more to the holidays than the rampant acquisitiveness that only adds more layers to the landfill.
