About New York City Ballet

Choreographer Gianna Reisen’s Composer’s Holiday is set to Lukas Foss’s Three American Pieces, for violin and piano. George Balanchine’s Kammermusik No. 2 echoes Hindemith’s modernist score with jagged lines and stylized gestures, while Symphony in C—his grand classical masterpiece performed to Bizet—dazzles with over 50 dancers. Set to Prokofiev’s feverish concerto, Jerome Robbins’s Opus 19/The Dreamer follows a male protagonist on a journey to find his elusive counterpart.
