About Orville Peck

Masked crooner Orville Peck gives classic American Country music a fabulous queer theatricality.

In a seductively deep Johnny Cash drawl, Peck celebrates Country’s romanticism of lost loves, the open plains and the cowboy ethos, decked out in a Stetson hat and a fringed leather BDSM take on the Lone Ranger’s mask.

Somnolent shoegaze melodies, buzzsaw punk riffs, the warm wail of pedal steel guitars and sharply written three-minute Country-punk songs provide the backdrop for Peck’s evocative tales of the North American Badlands.

On the opposite end of the pop spectrum from Old Town Road, Peck’s much- anticipated first Australian tour brings the “queer-haw” agenda and some spectacular Western denim couture to the Spiegeltent stage.
