About Yulianna Avdeeva

Spell-binding Russian pianist and winner of the 16th Chopin Piano Competition, Yulianna Avdeeva returns to Sydney after her sold out Sydney debut recital last year.

Avdeeva delivers the tender vulnerability and the brilliant virtuosity of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1. Her interpretations of Chopin’s music have been acclaimed world-wide and this is the chance to experience the splendid nocturnal beauty of this piece, performed with a rare sensitivity and panache.

Offering a perfect balance, the symphonic possibilities and intricacies of Brahms’s Piano Quartet in G minor are realised in Arnold Schoenberg’s dramatic and ravishing orchestration. For music lovers this will be a high point of the year – full of musical splendour.

Presented as part of the Abercrombie and Kent Masters Series.
