About Simone Lasma

Beethoven’s Violin Concerto is the Everest of concertos – the greatest of them all. Sublime and immense, this is the opportunity to experience Beethoven’s most lyrical and joyous music performed by Dutch violinist Simone Lamsma (“absolutely stunning... piercingly beautiful” - Chicago Tribune).

Under the direction of one of the world’s leading young conductors and most gifted musical communicators, Alexander Shelley, these performances conclude with Tchaikovsky’s thrilling Fourth Symphony, a perfectly formed work mirroring the Russian composer’s well-known obsession with fate. At its heart is an outpouring of song; a recollection of lost love.

Lamsma and Shelley together promise Beethoven and Tchaikovsky as you’ve never heard them before.

Presented as part of the Abercrombie and Kent Masters Series.
