Synopsis
This beloved musical adaptation of Cervantes’ “Don Quixote” came out of the experimental and political theatre of the 60’s, and is a play-within-a-play which finds Cervantes imprisoned by the Inquisition. There, the prisoners stage a mock trial of the author/poet, and in his defense he tells (and acts out) the story of his errant knight, Don Quixote de La Mancha, who is determined to bring back the age of chivalry into a darkening world.
Featuring on-stage actor-musicians, and staring TBA Award-winner Edward Hightower (seen in Custom Made’s “Assassins” and “Cotton Patch Gospel”) as Cervantes/Quixote.
