Pressure Cooker: Kiss Me Cake
About Kiss Me Cake
From a young girl's dream of being a ballerina to her sensual awakening and beyond, each dance is paired with Dillard's own confections and scored with live music. Cake recipes become arias, and the voice of Julia Child provides the backdrop for an unforgettable union of bodies and buttercream.
Your ticket includes light, savory fare in the style of a French royal banquet before launching into the main event, cake after cake after cake. All cakes are naturally gluten-free!
Dillard hails from a matriarchy of cake makers, apprenticing for her grand-mother and mother and working her way up to Pastry Chef at the Seasons Restaurant in Pullman, Washington. She has worked for Both Ways Catering in Seattle, and has created specialty wedding cakes on commission that are gluten free (and can also accommodate other food allergy requests) for over a decade.
The Pressure Cooker's 5 performance run exists to give emerging Seattle artists the opportunity to work in the Nordo sandbox of theater and food with a limited budget and serious time constraints. The Pressure Cooker invests in the innovation of producers, writers, and directors, cultivating new work that bends the genres of dinner theatre and performance, and pushes the limits of experimental theatre. Artists are provided rehearsal time, feedback sessions, stage construction aid, marketing assistance, menu development, and one week of unfettered access to Nordo's Culinarium and staff for tech and performances.
