The Last Five Years

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, The Last Five Years' unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show. Book, music, and lyrics for this Drama Desk Award-winning song cycle are by Jason Robert Brown. Starring Nasia Thomas (Ain’t Too Proud, Beautiful) as Cathy and Nicholas Edwards (Frozen) as Jamie. Directed and music directed by Tony recipient Jason Michael Webb (Choir Boy). Filmed in an apartment, this site-specific virtual production is presented by Out of the Box Theatrics and Holmdel Theatre Company.
