Acting with intention with Marc Kudisch
About Acting with intention
In this class we will focus on Intention First. Intention Before Result.
We will get to the root of WHY- why sing? Why put yourself in front of hundreds, perhaps thousands of people every night? And what is it that YOU individually want/need to say. We will focus on the Genuine You, on how to confidently and passionately bring that forward through spoken word and song. No tricks. Just Honesty and INTENTION.
Bring whatever song or monologue you like, Classic and Contemporary alike, and be ready to break it down to its bare bones. If it’s a song, please have accompaniment recorded and ready to play. If that’s not possible, feel free to sing a capella.
The second half of this class will be spent working on a Shakespeare monologue together, which you will receive by email ahead of the class date. There's no need to memorize, just have it on hand to work on.
Kudisch has received three Tony Award nominations for his roles in Thoroughly Modern Millie (Trevor Graydon), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Baron Bomburst), and 9 to 5 (Franklin Hart). Other Broadway credits include: Girl from the North Country (Mr. Burke), Hand to God (Pastor Greg), Assassins (The Proprietor), and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Gaston).
Kudisch also has several TV credits, including his recurring role on Billions as Dr. Gus.
