About The Jungle
Last winter, the Good Chance/National Theatre/Young Vic production of The Jungle sold out at St. Ann’s Warehouse. Now, the multi-award-winning production returns to St. Ann’s after taking London, New York, and San Francisco by storm.
Meet the hopeful, resilient residents of The Jungle, a refugee camp in Calais, France — where thousands of adults and children fleeing drought, war, and civil strife sought their “good chance” entry to the U.K. The Jungle asks why those in severe need must face great danger when crossing borders in their search for safety.
Come back to the Afghan Flag restaurant. Break bread with the refugees and volunteers who, despite an inhospitable environment, built a warm, self-governing society out of nothing, offering empathy and compassion in place of fear and punishment. “It feels as if all the world is holding its breath” – The New York Times
2hr 45min (incl. intermission)
Due to mature content, The Jungle is recommended for ages 12+.
