A celebration of María Irene Fornés, the legendary playwright and director, this remarkable evening features two profound, astonishing works re-imagined by director JoAnne Akalaitis, with new music by Philip Glass. Mud/Drowning introduces audiences to the breadth of Fornés’ genius with a new version of her acclaimed play, Mud, coupled with the New York premiere of Philip Glass’ opera adapted from her five-page play, Drowning. Both pieces will be performed in an intimate setting at the esteemed experimental theatre company, Mabou Mines.
