Tell Me More

21ST CENTURY CHOREOGRAPHERS I: Illustrating the Company’s ever-expanding repertory of original works, this program includes encore viewings of Lovette’s fall premiere and Wheeldon’s Estancia, an Argentine romance complemented by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava’s evocative sets.

21ST CENTURY CHOREOGRAPHERS II: Ratmansky’s latest NYCB premiere enjoys encore performances, paired with the revival of Wheeldon’s longingly romantic Klavier and Peck’s epic Everywhere We Go, a nine-part journey featuring a cast of 25 dancers emboldened by a swelling Sufjan Stevens score.

21ST CENTURY CHOREOGRAPHERS III: Highlighting a quartet of choreographers, this program features a new ballet from Pam Tanowitz, along with Gianna Reisen’s vivacious first NYCB work, Wheeldon’s quietly mystical pas de deux, and Peck’s romantic ensemble piece.

ALL BALANCHINE I: This colorful collection of Balanchine marvels includes a foreboding divertimento inspired by a dark fairytale, the sensational middle section from the full-length Jewels, and the beguiling fate of a young woman seduced by the figure of Death.

21ST CENTURY CHOREOGRAPHERS IV: A world premiere from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Resident Choreographer Jamar Roberts, his first creation for NYCB, joins repeat performances of new works by Liang and Peck, along with a lyrical Wheeldon pas de deux.

MATERS AT WORK: BALANCHINE & ROBBINS: Two rarities — Robbins’ folk-inflected Piano Pieces, last seen onstage over a decade ago, and Balanchine’s grand pas de deux, returning after a 25-year hiatus — precede a Black & White masterpiece with unceasing appeal.

ALL BALANCHINE II (MAY 14, 15, 17, 19): The charm and effervescence of the smile-inducing Donizetti Variations is paired with the breathtaking classical grandeur of Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2, featuring all-new costumes adorned with thousands of Swarovski crystals.

ALL BALANCHINE III (MAY 20, 21, 23 MAT, 24): Music from three centuries converges in a dynamic program illustrating three distinct atmospheres: the simple elegance of Concerto Barocco, striking angularity of Kammermusik No. 2, and grand opulence of Vienna Waltzes.
