About Say Something Bunny!
A NY Times Critics' Pick, a Time Out Top 10, and Vogue’s Best New Theater Experience...
Say Something Bunny! is an enthralling and unconventional performance based on a mysterious audio recording made over sixty years ago. The NY Times hailed it as “an out-and-out thrill...as catching as the chickenpox… forthrightly funny… sneakily moving“ while the Brooklyn Rail praised its “humor, pathos, and imagination.”
It began when two spools of wire were found inside an obsolete recording device. Through obsessive research, creative insight, and hundreds of hours listening, artist Alison S. M. Kobayashi’s decoded the dense dialogue and discovered the history of an unforgettable Jewish family from New York. Using a new and inventive mode of storytelling, this one-woman show immerses the audience in a stranger-than-fiction family saga bursting with comedy, surprise and drama.
