About Hurricane Diane
Pulitzer Prize finalist Madeleine George is joined by cast members Mia Barron, Becca Blackwell, Nikiya Mathis, Danielle Skraastad, and Kate Wetherhead to present highlights from her new work Hurricane Diane, a co-production with Women’s Project Theater, directed by Leigh Silverman. The play follows Diane, a permaculture gardener dripping with butch charm and supernatural abilities, manifestations of her true identity—the Greek god Dionysus. Her return to the modern world to restore the Earth to its natural state takes Diane to a suburban New Jersey cul-de-sac, and culminates in a bacchanalian catharsis with her neighbors—suburban housewives.
