Selected Shorts: Riverhead Books' 25th Anniversary
About Riverhead Books Anniversary
Throughout its history, Riverhead Books has consistently published cutting-edge literary works from bold, remarkable authors. In 2018, Riverhead celebrates its 25th anniversary, and we’re pulling out all the stops! Join award-winning authors Daniel Alarcón (The King Is Always Above the People), Lesley Nneka Arimah (What It Means When a Man Falls from the Sky), Lauren Groff (Florida), and James McBride (Five-Carat Soul) as they introduce readings from their recent collections and celebrate what it means to be a Riverhead author. Plus, two never-before-heard stories by R.O. Kwon (The Incendiaries) and Aja Gabel (The Ensemble) written just for us! Hosted by fellow Riverhead author Meg Wolitzer (The Female Persuasion) with performances by Jaime Zevallos (Cloak and Dagger), Crystal Dickinson (The Low Road), Hettienne Park (Hannibal), Maria Dizzia (13 Reasons Why), and Teagle F. Bougere (Queen America).
Selected Shorts was conceived with a simple premise: take great stories by well-known and emerging writers and have them performed by terrific actors of stage and screen. Featuring stories around a lively theme, the favorite works of a guest author, or a special collaboration, each Selected Shorts event is a unique night of literature in performance.
