About Love and Intrigue

Russia’s Maly Drama Theatre, led by the incomparable director Lev Dodin, returns to BAM with Friedrich Schiller’s Love and Intrigue. See this deeply moving parable of love and politics, which was known to be a favorite of Dostoyevsky’s and Verdi’s inspiration for his opera Luisa Miller.

Ferdinand, played by Danila Kozlovsky, is the son of a high-ranking courtier, forced to marry Lady Milford (Ksenia Rappoport). When instead he falls for Louise (Elizaveta Boyarskaya) turmoil ensues.
