About Two Rooms
The Lebanon hostage crisis saw 104 hostages taken in Lebanon between 1982 and 1992. Set in the middle of the crisis on opposites sides of the world, Michael and his wife Lainie pace the confines of their respective rooms. Michael, a hostage kidnapped while teaching in Beirut, spends his days blindfolded and wondering. Lainie, waiting and worried, has confined herself to her husband’s old office back in the United States, stripping the room of furnishings so that she can “share” in her partner’s ordeal. The thrilling drama, examination of terrorism, and meditation on the love between husband and wife comes from Pulitzer Prize-nominee Lee Blessing (A Walk in the Woods).
