About Joseph

Following a triumphant sold-out season in 2019, the new smash-hit production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will return to The London Palladium for a strictly limited season this summer.

Jason Donovan will return as the roof-raising Pharaoh, whilst Jac Yarrow is once again taking on the title character which won him critical acclaim and a 2020 Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. Alexandra Burke will be joining the Joseph cast as The Narrator in the sell-out sensation this summer.

Released as a concept album in 1969, the stage version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the worlds most beloved family musicals. The multi-award-winning show, which began life as a small scale school concert, has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international number one tours, and productions in over 80 countries as far afield as Austria and Zimbabwe and from Israel to Peru.

The show features songs that have gone on to become pop and musical theatre standards, including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, Jacob and Sons, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go, Go, Go, Joseph.

Tell Me More

Based on the Biblical story as told in the Book of Genesis, Joseph is Jacob’s favourite son. He’s given a dazzling coat by his father, much to his brothers annoyance. Consequently, his brothers sell Joseph into slavery, convinced they’ve got rid of him for good. But Joseph starts prophesying — a new world is opened to him. Interpreting the Pharaoh’s dreams and now in a high government position, can he reunite with his brothers?

The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical is argued to be one of the greatest musicals of all time. It’s been staged around the world and millions worldwide can recite the order of the “coat of many colors.” Now it’s your chance to see Joseph in London again.
