About The Art of Success

Here in its first major revival, the Olivier Award-nominated comedy The Art of Success is the first play in the Hogarth's Progress double bill and stars Bryan Dick as the younger William Hogarth.

Prepare for a heady, raucous nose-dive into 18th Century London's high society and debauched underworld as we follow the young newlywed William, on the rise to fame, on a dizzying and eventful night out and he questions the nature and value of art along the way.

Hogarth’s Progress is a riotous and thought-provoking double bill of plays by BAFTA Award-winning playwright Nick Dear, following one of Britain’s most irreverent and celebrated artists William Hogarth at a time when culture escaped from the grasp of the powerful into the hands of the many.
