The critically acclaimed, deeply emotional "Carved In Stone" by artistic director Joy Bollinger returns to Bruce Wood Dance, for the first time since 2016.
The Dallas premiere of "Dark Matter" by late founder Bruce Wood is a fascinating and mysterious ballet set to Prokofiev’s "Violin Concerto No. 2."
And, a world premiere by internationally-acclaimed choreographer Garrett Smith will feature powerful imagery and compelling partnering. Smith has been commissioned by the following distinguished companies: Norwegian National Ballet and Opera, The Mariinsky Ballet, Den Norske Opera & Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Cincinnati Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and the Bolshoi (Faces Project). In addition, Smith co-choreographed a new "Swan Lake" production on stage and ice at the Dynamo Stadium in Moscow, combining figure skaters, acrobats, and ballet dancers, such as Olympic Gold Medalist Evgeni Plushenko and prima ballerina Olga Smirnova.
Audience talk-back sessions with the cast will take place immediately following each performance. An artists' talk will take place starting at 7:15pm in the lobby before each performance.
