About Blue Man Group
Remember that time when you were little and one of your imaginary friends took your hand and led you into a world that looked like yours only brighter? That’s what BLUE MAN GROUP is like.
BLUE MAN GROUP combines music, technology, and comedy to create a form of entertainment that defies categorization and appeals to people of all ages. BLUE MAN GROUP’s shows have been described by critics as “innovative,” “energetic” and “wildly entertaining.” But the only way to truly understand BLUE MAN GROUP’s global popularity is to see the show for yourself.
Tell Me More
Join the Blue Man Group as they go on a multi-sensory journey — it’s a fusion of music, comedy, and theater explored through the use of technology, colors, instruments, and even some audience participation. The all-ages show is nonverbal, bringing the performers and audiences together with a connection of music and shared sensory experience. The show promises to evoke laughter, and requires everyone to be ready to rock out a bit and party. There’s even a designated splash zone for wayward onstage materials — don’t worry, audience members are given ponchos!
The Blue Man Group was started in 1987 by a group of friends who performed in blue masks in the streets in New York City, and the performance artists took up residence at the Astor Place Theatre in 1991. In addition to Chicago, the Blue Man Group has continuing performances around the world in cities including New York City, Boston, Las Vegas, Berlin, and Orlando. There are also touring productions all over the globe. Wherever the performance, the Blue Man Group shows are constantly being updated with new graphics, instruments, and comic bits.
